Places to stay in Newport tend to book up very quickly.  Make your reservation as far in advance as possible.  Note: Hotels, motels and B&B’s may ask for a 3-day reservation, although you may be able to negotiate with them on price and length of stay.

Many of fans stay in outlying towns Portsmouth, Middletown, or nearer to Providence on Interstate 195 East where prices are lower. Another area is near the Providence airport (TF Green) off Interstate 95 – many of the well known chain hotels are in that area. From that area to the site is about 40-50 minutes with a well planned route!

The Newport County Convention & Visitors Bureau has a pretty comprehensive list of places to stay in Newport and in nearby towns.  Visit http://www.gonewport.com/ViewPage.aspx?id=1 or call 1-800-976-5122 for help in finding a place.

Hope this is helpful!

Unfortunately Warwick is the place for reasonably priced accomodations but I plan to go fishing for deals the week of the festival for something a little closer in...any ideas?
